Early Life & Background

Osariemen Martha Elizabeth Ighodaro, popularly known as Osas Ighodaro, was born on 26 October 1990 in Bronx, New York, USA, to Nigerian parents from Edo State. Raised in the United States, Osas grew up in a family deeply rooted in Nigerian traditions while enjoying the opportunities of an American upbringing.

She studied Broadcast Journalism with dual minors in Entrepreneurship and Theater at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), and later earned a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University, New York.


Pageantry & Early Career

Osas’s entry into the limelight began with beauty pageants. In 2010, she won the title of Miss Black USA, representing the state of New York. Her beauty, confidence, and eloquence stood out, making her a role model for young African women in the diaspora.

During her reign, she actively engaged in charity work, especially health awareness campaigns for children and families in need.


Nollywood & Acting Career

After completing her education, Osas moved to Nigeria in 2012 with the intention of staying temporarily, but her career opportunities kept her in Nollywood. She quickly became one of Nigeria’s most sought-after actresses.

Philanthropy
