Munachi Gail Teresa Abii Nwankwo, popularly known as Munachi Abii, was born on 5 November 1987 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She is of Igbo descent and grew up in a supportive family that encouraged her artistic and creative interests.

From an early age, Munachi showed talent in music, poetry, and fashion. She attended Federal Government Girls’ College, Abuloma in Rivers State, and later studied International Relations and Diplomacy at the Benson Idahosa University (BIU) in Benin City.


Rise to Fame – Beauty Queen

In 2007, Munachi Abii entered the prestigious Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant, organized by Silverbird Group. At just 19 years old, she won the coveted crown, becoming MBGN 2007.

Her victory brought her national fame and the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Miss World 2007 competition in Sanya, China.

During her reign, Munachi focused on youth empowerment projects, particularly campaigns against HIV/AIDS and initiatives promoting education among Nigerian youths.


Transition into Music & Entertainment

Munachi Abii was not only a beauty queen but also a talented rapper, songwriter, and entertainer. Even before winning MBGN, she was part of a rap group called The Specimen A, showcasing her lyrical skills.

After her reign, she pursued a solo career in music under the stage name “Muna.” She signed with Ayo Shonaiya’s RMG company and later worked with music label MBGN Entertainment.
