

Chidinma Ekile, popularly known as Chidinma, was born on 2 May 1991 in Ketu, Lagos State, Nigeria, into a family originally from Imo State. She is the sixth of seven children and was raised in a Christian household.
Chidinma grew up in Lagos, where she attended primary and secondary schools, actively participating in her church choir from a young age. Her passion for music was nurtured in church, where she developed her vocal skills.
She studied Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, balancing her studies with her growing interest in music.
Chidinma rose to national prominence in 2010, when she won Season 3 of Project Fame West Africa, a popular reality music competition. Her victory made her the first female winner of the show, and it launched her into the Nigerian music industry.
Her win also came with a recording contract, which helped her release her debut singles.
Chidinma’s debut single, Jankoliko, featuring Sound Sultan, was released in 2011. She followed up with “Kedike”, a hit song that became her signature track and earned her the nickname “Miss Kedike.”
