

Amaka Okwuoha, known by her stage name Chioma Jesus, was born on 12 February 1972 in Abia State, Nigeria, though she grew up in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
She came from a humble background and faced many struggles in her early life, including the loss of her father at a young age. Despite hardships, she remained steadfast in her Christian faith. She became active in the church choir, where her extraordinary voice began to shine.
Her stage name, Chioma Jesus, reflects her deep devotion to Jesus Christ and her frequent use of the Igbo name “Chioma” (meaning Good God) in her songs.
Chioma Jesus began her professional music career in the 1990s. She gained fame with her breakthrough single “Chioma Jesus” in 2003, a song that became an instant anthem in Eastern Nigeria and among Igbo-speaking Christians worldwide.
From there, her ministry grew rapidly, and she became known for her powerful indigenous gospel style, marked by high-energy praise and deep worship.
