The marriage of Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, and Temi Otedola, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, has been described as one of Africa’s most extravagant and culturally significant weddings. Blending intimacy with high-fashion elegance, the 2025 ceremonies attracted global attention, combining Yoruba traditions, luxury settings, and notable figures from Africa’s business and cultural elite.
Mr Eazi, an acclaimed Afrobeats singer and entrepreneur, met Temi Otedola, actress and fashion influencer, in 2017. Their relationship, which began as friendship, quickly developed into one of the continent’s most followed romances.
In April 2022, Mr Eazi proposed to Temi during a private trip to Venice, Italy, an event that generated excitement across African media and social platforms.
The couple’s wedding celebrations spanned three countries, reflecting their cosmopolitan lifestyle and family prominence.
The wedding journey commenced in Monaco in May 2025, with a civil ceremony attended by close family and friends.
The second event was a traditional Yoruba ceremony, hosted at the Otedola family mansion in Dubai. The celebration blended cultural heritage with luxury, as thousands of lanterns and chandeliers illuminated the festivities. Among the distinguished guests were Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu, two of Africa’s most influential businessmen. Attendance was limited to around 80 select guests, enhancing the intimate yet opulent atmosphere.
The last chapter of the wedding took place in Iceland in August 2025, where the couple exchanged vows in a symbolic ceremony. Aliko Dangote, present once again, used the occasion to commend Mr Eazi’s entrepreneurial achievements, noting that the artist’s business empire extends across 18 countries, underscoring his influence beyond music.
Temi Otedola’s bridal look attracted international coverage. She wore a custom-made Fendi Haute Couture gown inspired by Audrey Hepburn. According to Vogue, starting designs for such gowns are priced around $50,000, with elaborate creations reaching $800,000. The choice reflected Temi’s strong connection to the fashion industry and elevated the wedding’s global profile.
The ceremonies, spanning Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland, came at significant financial cost. Reports estimate that Femi Otedola spent between $14 million and $15 million on the events, ranking the wedding among the most expensive in African history.
Beyond grandeur, the events were marked by moments of familial warmth. At the Iceland ceremony, Aliko Dangote pledged to sponsor the celebration of the couple’s first child, drawing applause and symbolizing the close personal ties within Nigeria’s business and cultural elite.
The wedding of Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola has been hailed as a cultural moment in Africa. It showcased the blending of modern celebrity culture, traditional Nigerian values, and high-end global fashion, reinforcing the visibility of Nigerian creatives and entrepreneurs on the world stage.
